Training and CPD

Vet-Cor delivers flexible, on-site ultrasonography and cardiology CPD tailored entirely around your practice’s clinical needs and current skill level. Rather than offering fixed off-the-shelf courses, each training programme is built around where your team is starting from and what you want to achieve — whether that’s building confidence with your scanner from scratch, developing a systematic approach to abdominal or cardiac imaging, introducing point-of-care ultrasound into your emergency workflow, or upskilling nurses in ECG interpretation and patient monitoring.

Every session combines structured teaching with hands-on practical work using your own equipment, ensuring that skills are immediately transferable to your day-to-day clinical environment. Training can be delivered as a single focused visit or spread across multiple sessions to allow consolidation between practical exposures — whichever format best suits your team, your caseload, and your schedule. For echocardiography training, live patients are strongly recommended to maximise the practical experience, though clinical case and image review can be incorporated where needed.

Content can be drawn from any combination of the following areas, at introductory or advanced level, and sequenced in a way that builds logically on your team’s existing knowledge:

  • General ultrasonography — scanner set-up, optimisation, and the core principles of image acquisition across tissue types
  • Abdominal ultrasonography — systematic evaluation of abdominal organs, recognition of common and complex pathologies, and image-guided procedures
  • Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) — rapid, targeted assessment for emergency and routine clinical decision-making
  • Echocardiography — from essential right-sided views and EPIC staging through to advanced left-sided assessment and measurements
  • ECG interpretation — recognition of common arrhythmias and waveform analysis for vets and nursing staff
  • Multiparameter monitoring — aimed at veterinary nurses, covering interpretation of vital signs in anaesthesia and critical care settings
  • One-to-one mentoring — focused practical sessions with ongoing remote support and image feedback between visits

Sessions are typically delivered to groups of 3–4 team members — a size that works well in practice, ensuring everyone gets meaningful time at the probe rather than just observing. If you have a larger team to train, we’re happy to discuss the best way to structure this around your needs.

Training programmes start from £750, with bespoke pricing for individual sessions and bundles across multiple topic areas. International training enquiries are also welcome.
